Introduction
In order to make full use of your Optigo OneView™ system, you must use a license.
The license allows you to:
- Increase the number of ports allowed on the system
- Enable redundancy
- Manage an Optigo licensed router
All OneView systems allow 100 ports to be used without installing a license to allow you to set up a basic network.
OneView version 4.5.0 changes how licenses are managed, so you now need to install license keys.
Navigate to the license page
There are two ways to navigate to the license page.
You can click on the new "License" card on the System > Status page, which is the default page after logging in.
You can also click on dropdown menu at the top right of the screen and click on the "License" link from there.
You will see the licensing page after using one of these methods.
Install a license
You should have received a license key from an Optigo representative.
If you have an older system and are upgrading, or do not have a license key, reach out to an Optigo representative to receive yours. You can also visit https://optigo.net and use the support chat at the bottom right for help.
The license can be installed in "Installation".
Before continuing installation, OneView will show you the license contents and ask you to confirm. Licenses have a limited number of installations, so make sure that you are installing on the desired system.
If OneView has internet access, it will finish the installation after confirming.
If OneView does not have internet access, then OneView will output an intermediate key that you must send to an Optigo representative.
If you lose this text, you can get it back by putting the license key back into "Step 1".
An Optigo representative will use the intermediate key to give you a final license key, which you can then install into OneView to complete the license installation.
If you refreshed the page or logged out of OneView, you will be shown "Step 1" rather than "Step 4". You may input the final license key in "Step 1" and OneView will install it properly.
Exceeding the license
If your license has been exceeded, OneView will display this in multiple places.
Of note is that the port usage for the license is counted based on the number of useable ports on Edge Switches in the system - not the number of used ports. For example, if you have a 48-port switch with 10 ports connected and 38 ports disconnected, the usage according to the license is still 48.
Text highlighted in red on the licensing page warns about exceeded usage.
The System > Status page will also show if licenses have been exceeded.
