Generating a Gmail App Password

To send OneView event notifications using Gmail as the email provider, you will first need to generate a unique app password. Do do so, please follow these instructions:

1. Log into your Gmail account via the browser.
   
   
2. Go to: https://myaccount.google.com/security
   
   
3. Confirm that 2-factor authentication is enabled. If not, enable it.
   
   
4. Go back to: https://myaccount.google.com/security
   
   
5. Refresh the page, click on 'App passwords', and then follow the prompts
   
   
6. Click 'Select app', click 'Other (Custom name)', and create a unique name (e.g. OneView-Notifications), and then click the 'Generate' button.
   
   
7. Copy the password from the yellow box. This is the password that you will use to set up OneView notification emails when using a Gmail account.
