Although most configuration and status info is accessed from the menu on the left-hand side of the OneView screen, additional settings, options, and features are available to the user by clicking on the icon with the three horizontal lines (aka 'hamburger button') that is located in the top-right of the screen.
Clicking this button will bring up a menu containing 6 items:
Settings
The 'Settings' page is comprised of 3 sections:
Notification Popups
Users can 'Enable' or 'Disable' the notification popups that appear on the screen when events occur (i.e. link up, link down, user login, etc). However, these events are always recorded in 'Notifications', to review later, regardless of whether popups are enabled or not. Don't forget to click the 'Save' button.
Change Password
Users can change the 'Administrator' (admin) password here.
For security reasons, it's highly recommended that users create a unique password rather than continuing to use the default. Don't forget to click the 'Submit' button.
System Logs
If there is a problem that requires Optigo technical support, users may be asked to download the system logs to provide additional information.
Clear cache
In a properly functioning system, users will see no effect, positively or negatively, from clicking on the 'Clear cache' button.
However, if there is a problem that requires Optigo tech support, the user may be asked to click this button as part of the troubleshooting process.
License
The 'License' page is where your OneView license(s) can be installed and managed. For more information on OneView licensing, please refer to the Licensing application note .
User Accounts
On the 'User Accounts' page, users with administrator (admin) privileges can add new users, edit existing ones (e.g. change their privileges from 'read-only' to 'admin), and delete users.
Please note that no users, regardless of their privileges, can change the default 'admin' account in any way.
Usernames are case-sensitive, 4-15 characters in length, with no spaces, and must only be alphanumeric.
Passwords are case-sensitive, 4-15 characters in length, with no spaces, and, in addition to alphanumeric characters, can also consist of the following: ! ? _ @ -
OneView supports up to 50 unique users, including the default 'admin' account. The number of user accounts remaining is listed at the bottom of the 'Add User' dialog.
Users with 'Read-only' accounts can browse around anywhere in OneView, but are unable to make any changes to the system.
Help
On the 'Help' page, users can access two tabs: FAQ (frequently asked questions) and Glossary.
For additional information, go to Optigo's Connect Support page.
Report
From the 'Report' page, users can see a detailed overview of their entire system. This report is also printable, but the 'Print Report' button does not get enabled until the entire report has been generated, which may take minutes on larger systems.
Logout
Although OneView will automatically logout users after 4 hours of user inactivity, they can also manually logout of OneView by simply clicking 'Logout'.
