In Visual BACnet Site Monitoring, you can share a site, an area, or a monitoring node. The user you are sharing with does not need to have a Visual BACnet account.
When you share an area in Visual BACnet, the user will have access to everything below that area. For example, in the screenshot below, if you share “Theatre” with someone, they will have access to Theatre, Main IP, MSTP chain 1 and MSTP chain 2.
To share, start by going to the share tab of the site, area, or monitoring node you would like to share.
This will bring you to the share screen. Type in the work email of the user you would like to share the site with, and hit enter.
The user will receive an email informing them that a site has been shared with them. If they already have an account, the site will automatically show up in it. If they do not have an account, the email will have a link for them to create one.
As soon as the site has been shared, the individual will show up on the user list with a drop down beside their email that says “View Only.” You can use this to give the user Admin access to the area that you have shared with them, or keep them at View Only. You can see what the difference is here.
Any site that is shared with a user will show up in the “Sites shared with me” tab.
