Upgrading an ONS-CD0840GP from Firmware Version 7.10.2816

If your ONS-CD0840GP edge switch currently has version 7.10.2816 firmware on it, you will need to upgrade to a bridge firmware version first, before upgrading to the latest version.

Here's how: 

1. Download the bridge firmware file:
   ONS-CD0840GP_v7.10.2816_bridge_GN_202405004.imgs
   
   

2. From OneView go to: Config > Edge Switches > Manual Management > Open GUI (by the edge switch to be upgraded).
   
   

3. Click the 'Show' button under 'Credentials' and copy the unique password from the 'Credentials' section at the bottom of the screen.
   
   

4. Click on the 'URL' link in the 'Opened Edge Switches' section.
   
   

5. In the new tab that opens up, log in with the switch's credentials.
   
   

6. Scroll down to 'Maintenance' (left-hand side, bottom).
   
   

7. Select: Firmware > Firmware Upgrade
   
   

8. Click 'Choose File' and select: 
   ONS-CD0840GP_v7.10.2816_bridge_GN_202405004.imgs
   
   

9. Click 'Upload' to upload it to the switch and then wait for the upgrade process to complete (i.e. the switch GUI screen will eventually go blank and the switch will re-register in OneView*).
   
   

10. Repeat from step 2, but this time upgrade the switch with the latest firmware (click here to download it).
    
    

*NOTE
You may see some brief "Switch Configuration Failed" error notification messages in OneView during the upgrade process. That's normal. As long as the switch eventually finishes configuring and its 'Connect' link on the 'Edge Switches' page looks healthy, you're good to go.
