Why is my Edge Switch not registering in OneView?

• If your Edge Switch was registering properly before, the Edge Switch may no longer be enabled. From OneView, go to the 'Edge Switches' or 'Switches & Routers' page and make sure that the switch's 'Status' is enabled.
  
  
• If your Edge Switch is appearing as a "Generic Edge Switch", that is OneView recognizing an SFP module, but it doesn't yet know which switch the SFP module is inserted into. Check that you have the SFP module seated properly in the correct SFP slot on the Edge Switch. Please note that on Spectra systems the ONS-CX-SFP module must be inserted into the 'OPT' port, which is highlighted green, never the 'OPT-R' port.
  
  
• OneView may recognize that an SFP has been connected before the switch has fully booted up for management or it may still be in the process of getting a DHCP address. Both of these factors may delay registration, so make sure to give it some time, especially on larger systems.
